Obliged to Martin at Their Contempt for You is Total for reference to this and this.
Apparently anyone who doesn’t believe in ‘climate change’ is now going to be classed as mentally ill (which is convenient because it means they can be detained against their will and drugged, or otherwise ‘treated’, into submission in complete secrecy).
Of course it’s not sufficient, to establish one’s psychiatric bona fides, merely to believe, as I do, that the Earth’s climate can change; had it not regularly done so in the past, the geological record would doubtless have become stuck in a groove.
Nor will it do to believe, as I do, in the runaway greenhouse effect, for which the planet Venus stands witness.
Simply accepting, as I do, that carbon dioxide (among other things) can cause such an effect is not enough.
The intuitive mathematical ability necessary to see, as I do, that there is a difference between burning a fuel, such as wood, which was recently formed using atmospheric carbon and burning fuels, such as coal, formed using carbon millions of years ago, will not prevent the diagnosis.
All that will henceforth exclude one from the provisions of the Mental Health Act is to believe:
(a) that global warming is definitely occurring;
(b) that it can have no other possible cause than ourselves;
(c) that its prevention is nothing to do with ‘fossil fuels’ any more, but with the emission of carbon in any form;
(d) that science now operates by ‘consensus’, which appears to mean that variant of Lysenkoism which sacks anyone who won’t support an hypothesis, pays others to puff it, and then claims this process to represent an authoritative view;
(e) that a body made up of people well paid by governments to find in the governments’ favour can possibly be objective about anything;
(f) that an appropriate response to a supposedly dangerous situation allegedly arising from the widespread use of motor-cars is not to rearrange one’s affairs so that motor-cars are less frequently used, but to force everyone to buy new ones all the time, and upon them, and their fuels, to pay the most disproportionate taxes.
Prior to the invention of the AGW cult, adherence with any degree of vigour to any of these tenets (particularly the last) might well have made people wonder whether one was, in fact, all there.
In short, owing to the takeover of the asylum by the lunatics, we are to follow the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party procedure, and all move one place on.

In that case I am PROUD to be mentally ill. And I’ll tell them it’s all bollocks right up until they cut my frontal lobe out.
